Grateful for music: As much as I love the sounds of nature, sometimes I prefer grooving to melodies, tunes, and adictive beats.
I have to confess that I am not someone who can sit through an opera, maybe because I have never been properly introduced to it. I do admire the strength, stamina and range of the singer. But perhaps I just do not get it as no one has explained opera to me.
I do enjoy live music. From live music sets by soon-to-be-discovered or famous bands, to sexy Latin tunes, and thumping trance enthems, I love them all.
For me, music reflects my mood of the moment. It even enhances or amplifies the mood.
For example trance music ala Above & Beyond is great when I need to plow through writing. Tunes from Goldfrapp or Psapp are great for editing. Salsa and Latin beats help me when some housework needs to be completed.
Some times I can look at my play list, and not find anything that can explain my mood. A these times, I end up listening to Suede’s Sci Fi Lullabies album, which is a collection of emotive B-sides that I am glad was released as a full album!
If anyone is wondering, these are the artistes on my iTunes playslist: Adele, Amy Winehouse, Coldplay, Goldfrap, Psapp, Florence and the Machine, Erasure, Laura Fygi, Michael Buble, Jamie Cullum, Take That, The Carpenters, Suede, The Cure, Armin van Buuren, Cosmic Gate, Paul van Dyk, Oceanlab, Above & Beyond, The Original Shanghai Divas, Latin tunes (salsa, rhumba, samba), SMOMA, Dance with Me soundtrack, The Hunger Games soundtrack, Cafe del Mar albums, Bliss, Hôtel Costes albums.
My wish for the day: That everyone has some music in their life, for every single day that they are alive.
